Always ID the year of your car so we have some idea of its engine type and fuel system.
Don't know about rattles or exhaust noise but check carefully the accordion ducting from the AMM to the throttle body for splits and cracks. Any air leaks here will vary as the engine rocks in its mounts - especially significant in the lower gears - and totally frustrate the ECU's attempts to hold a proper air-fuel ratio. Result: bad case of the staggers.
