Danr--that last statement confused me a bit--
Try this, count the shift points when it is warmed up. The transmission should not shift to 4th when cold, or lock the torque convertor. If all the shift points are not there, that would confirm the sensor is bad.
Does this mean that if the sensor is bad ,that even when cold ,the tranny will shift to 4th -- like if all the shift points are there with the engine cold that the sensor is malfunctioning?
How big a job is replacing this sensor,it's pretty tight in there isn't it?
