I was driving in heavy rain today and the 740 had been doing fine as usual. I parked the car and went back to it five minutes later. No start. No power. Nothing electrical would work including the power locks. I hit the ignition column several times and the car started for two or three seconds and stalled. I tryed starting it again and it ran but then I closed the door and turned on the headlights and it stalled. I could not get it started again.
Well I had it towed to my mechanic but I really don't want to wait for him. He does good work, is honest, and charges fairly but hetakes too long and I rely on my car for work.
I am wondering if it could be the ignition switch causing the gremlins or if it something else. I read in the FAQ that water seeping through the windsheild wiper jets can leak on to the distributer cap and create a no start. It does not say if it will cause no power either. If it is the Radio supression relay will that cause a no power also?
Anyway just hoping someone might have an idea.
Thanks,
