You're right - there was an open, jeep-like, version of the car. In this model the B18 produced an absolutely gorgeous exhaust sound, nothing like the PV's/122's. Production ended early and consequently B30 powered 'vans' are far more common.

These are tough little things but don't expect to find any normal Volvo safety in this 1950's design - there is none.
