I need help!!! 700

I purchased the gasket material from Pat Patterson Volvo in Memphis. It is kind of like Permatex, but is supposed to be especially for Volvos. I know it is not the valve cover gasket, but it is the cam shaft carrier gasket (between the carrier and the head) I know it is, b/c I have cleaned it off and re-checked it several times since last replacement. They (Pat Patterson) do not carry just a gasket for it, only the gasket material. I tried to remove the flame trap just to be sure ( I removed both 10 MM bolts holding it in) but even after removing them, it will not come out. I don't wanna tear it up, but cannot get it to come out. It does have quite a bit more play than before, but will not budge. I think I'm just gonna clean it well and apply JB Weld. I am so sick of this car!
