I installed a new head unit, a Pioneer CD player, and two new Alpine speakers in the front of my '89 240. No problems. I then, a couple of weeks later, installed a 10" Alpine sub woofer in the back, with a 300 watt Alpine power amp. Now, when I turn on my windshield wipers, when the wipers reach the apex or endpoint of their trajectory, the point at which they are all the way to the left, the whole stereo sort of clicks or sort mutes for a split second.
No wires from the stereo are anywhere near the wiper motor.
This might be a long shot, but could it possibly be that at that moment when it happens there is a transient spike in voltage usage, due to the new amp, that causes it to drop out? Or what?
Thanks.
