O2 Sensor Question...Help

Well my 740 died on my way to work this morning... In a school zone putting along at 15mph and it just died...Will not restart.. I checked the fault codes and got a 2-2-1

2-2-1 = Oxygen sensor not operating---- Oxygen sensor or intake air leak

My question is... Will a faulty O2 sensor prevent the car from starting...I know it will make them run like crap..But will it completely stop it from starting???

Any help would be great...
