Old ( --->1980) Wiper Arm Removal?? Is there a trick to it??

Hi, all.
I hope this is not too much of a re-post. My specific question is: How does the wiper arm come off of a 1980 GT (242)? I got a junkyard replacement arm from a relatively new 240, and it simply had a nut that came off, and the arm removed easily. It does not seem the same with my 1980. There does NOT seem to be a dust cover over a nut. Is there some hidden "release thingy"? (I am talking about the ARM, not just the blade) Has anyone dealt with this on a pre-'81? Thank you!
