Hello board. For months I have tried to get an auto shipper to transport my 1975 164E from Iowa to Tucson with no luck. Over Christmas I went back to Iowa and started the car to make sure it was still operational since I was told it would be picked up within a week. To make a long story short, I get a call today saying they are picking up the brick and when my sister went to make sure it started (it is stored outside), the ignition is locked up. The key will not turn it at all. Any ideas what is wrong? The car was in park, she also tried it in neutral. The steering wheel is not locked up and preventing it. Anyone ever have this problem? When I started it before, it started with some effort but ran, although I did not drive it.
Is it possible someone has stolen a part from it? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
