It should hold fine, though it's hard to guess how strong yours may still be. If they're really rusty, maybe I wouldn't trust it.
To do engine mounts, I always jack the thing up from the bottom, with wood and a couple rags to protect the oil pan. Not to say the upper lifting frame isn't going to work, it's just a different way to go about it.
The lifting rings should be strong enough to do this job in any case.
