240 Tranny Problems

yeah on my 92 244, the Tranny had a problem with the linkage between the shifter and the shaft part broke, so I was basically stuck in 2nd. I got under it and got it out, that was fun. Anyone had this problem? It is from the threads and connects the shifter to the tranny. Any idea about Price of the Part ? Is it common problem I got now 104,000 Miles on the Car?
