propane test on my intake manifold

My fellow Volvo owners,

My 1989 240 sedan (119 K miles) has been idling rough. A post on the Brickboard led me to test for leaks in my intake manifold.

So, as suggested, I sprayed my intake area with unlit propane. When I stick the propane on top of the manifold between the first and second cylinder, the idle increases.

As I understand it, this indicates a bad intake manifold gasket. Would you guys agree?

Any advice on the procedure would be appreciated, specifically on how much of that area has to be unassembled.

I was surprised how inexpensive the parts were. My local auto parts had it in stock for about $7.00.
