Lucid, your posting appellation is apt. Thanks for that good explanation. I'm a little worried about running constant +12V to the field, too. Wondering if it might overheat the field windings overnight without any air circulation. At any rate, another poster gave me the location of the correct wire on the round cluster connector, so I'll just tap in there. The bulb is working properly now that the field is energized. Thanks for your help.
