ecu reliability/ availability... 1800 1973

Even the one in my 145E that got dunked in the lake kept working (I cracked open the box to let it dry back out). One time a box did go bad on my 1800E - I had just started it up, it was idling when it died. And never issued another click again. Probably some very minor fault, but I'm not the person to find it. I think I fouind another one for $50, pre internet and eBay. They should be easier to find now. You might start watching on eBay and snag one to stick on a shelf somewhere just in case. If you ever needed one eBay would be dry for months.
