Idle motor on its way out, tranny/engine mounts too??? 200

Hey all,

This weekend I'm doing a complete overhaul of my brakes but now have some other issues which are starting to come into play as well. I've noticed that my idle is surging irregularly when at a stop. The car shakes due to the rough idle and unfortunately words don't describe the sounds (more like wroom wrooom wroom) and the tach needle fluctuates...I'd say between 800-1000. Granted the V15 cam is partly to blame but these noises are new. How do you tell if the idle motor is dying? I am cleaning my throttle body this weekend and hope to do a vaccum test as well.

Secondly, I've noticed significant shifter shake while traveling over bumps which again seem new and as if the tranny is quite free to move around in the engine bay. I don't think the tranny/engine mounts have even been replaced...brick has 150K currently so time for replacement??

Thanks as always,
-Adam
