Dead Tranny part three

found a used tranny for the 88 745 at the pick and pull that had 114k on it for 250 and the labor to install it was around 200. I called to check on it and the mechanic told that they were having problem fitting the trans filter. He told me that the new (replacement) transmission did not have a filter and he was not sure if it came with one. So does anybody know it some AW70 came without a filter or did someone just not replace this one?
