ECT Sensor Malfunction 900 1994

Can the connection from the ECT sensor to the ECU connector be replaced without replacing the entire wiring harness? I've narrowed my hot start problems down to my engine coolant temperature sensor. The connector to the sensor is loose an will move up/down even once snapped locked into place.
