I got a pretty extensive previous thread about this somewhere.
Been running it for at least 6 months. Still fine and I really like it.
Main points.
1. Modifying the volvo shift fork can be done by grinding down the tips of the bearing pivot prongs a little, and bushing out the diameter of the pivots to fit the waist of the ford throwout bearing. I used brass plumbing nuts filed down to fit.
2. Mount shift fork pivot higher, with longer bolt backed up with 2 nuts, ontop of which screw the pivot ball.
3. Drill hole for tranny mount 1.5 inch lower and slightly (.75") offset to passnger side. For some reason this gives better shaft alignment.
4. Face it, you're going to have to pound up the floor where the speedo cable exits the tranny to keep from binding with the body.
5. Change the tranny seal and have the output bushing changed by dealer.
6. If you're not removing the engine, mount the bellhousing to the tranny 1st, then install. Be careful if you are using a turbo coupe (4cyl.) tranny, input shaft is a little longer.
