Battery Cables Very Hot 200 1993

1993 Volvo 240 - approx 133k
Have an interesting issue: Tried to start my 240 the other day only to find that there was no power going into the car at all - dome light, dash lights, etc.

Opened the hood to check the battery cables, and found that the junction/fuse box that hangs off of the "+" battery terminal had started to melt! Was cool to the touch at the time, so whatever caused the condition happened earlier. I wiggled the box, and power was restored. After driving for approx 5 miles, I stopped and checked the connection again - VERY HOT to the touch. Gave the fuse box a closer look and noticed that the cable labeled ignition was the one that was causing the "meltdown" condition.

Going to perform some troubleshooting this weekend - any suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,
