CD player wireless interference static 700

Does anybody have tips on how to reduce static when using an add-on CD player that broadcasts through the radio? It's a wireless one, gets power from the cigarette lighter. Tune your radio to one of 4 frequencies. Sorta works, but usually static, sometimes related to ignition, sometimes just general.
