She can't get into reverse no more.

My son has a manual, M46, transmission in his '86 240. Today the "reverse detent pull rod" inside the shift lever broke. This rod is the newer type with the square opening at the top which connects to the detent ring that you pull up on to allow shifting to reverse. I haven't seen it but he says it looks like plastic.

My question is where can one find a replacement? Any sources out there?

In the meantime, he is able to get the car into revers by lifting the shift lever boot and manually lifting the detent letting the tranny get into reverse.
