Hello. I have a 1978 240 Volvo that I got off a friend for $500. It had been sitting with a blown head for a year. I've replaced the head only to find it was pouring fuel into the cylinders. I took off the fuel distributor and found the control plunger was almost welded into the barrel.
I've since replaced the fuel distributor and air flow sensor. Now I'm not getting any fuel from the injectors (except the cold start) when the plate is at its zero position. If I lift the plate the injectors start to spray. This is a lambda sond system.
My questions:
Is it normal not to spray when the air flow plate is at zero position?
If not any suggestions on what and how to check components?
Thanks in advance to help get another old brick on the road.
