if it will start with starter fluid then you have spark. try bridging fuse #5 and fuse #6 ( bridge the brass contacts together). this will send direct power to the pumps( main and in-tank). listen for a nice steady hum under the left rear door. no hum = dead main pump. erratic hum (painful sounding) = bad prepump. you can also test the prepump by leaving the fuses bridged, disconnecting the main pump wire which is below the left seat cushion just inside the left rear door( yellow wire all by itself). you should then be able to hear the prepump inside the gas tank by listening at the fuel filler neck with the gas cap off. further test this pump by disconnecting the fuel line at the main filter, next to the brake booster. fuel should flow out just more than a trickle.
