Breaking a Window Regulator

I'm sure it's not so much the mechanical regulator being intermittent, but the electricals. A zap of few thousand volts on the motor ought to kill it. And anything else electrical in the car too.

BTW, has the wiring been checked? A loose connection will be intermittent without necessarily having any signs of wear or damage to either the switch or the regulator.

Being an '04, I presume you bought the car new. There is the whole lemon law thing to pursue too, y'know.
