hold on... 700 1989

While I'm not a mechanic, my gut tells me that it wouldn't be wise to up and go replacing main and rod bearings on a relatively "young" engine.

If the new engine has been properly maintained with regular oil changes, etc, then the main and rod bearings should be just fine. I think you are just asking for trouble otherwise.

Any mechanics out there to back me up?
