Look closely at the ratings in the book... there is a difference between RON which is listed in the manual, and the formula they use on the pumps, which is RON + MON divided by 2 (R+M)/2. RON stands for Research Octane Number, and MON stands for Motor Octane number. RON is more of the high rpm range and how the fuel will react, and MON is the lower rpm range. Kind of like city vs. highway driving. Now the manual wants 90+ RON, which is about equivalent to the "87 Octane (R+M)/2" listed on the pump.
