Starting Problems. 140-160 1974

The little plunger in the middle of the fuel distributor on the bottom can stick from fuel varnish. Lift the distributor off the air flow sensor and see if the plunger moves freely. If it doesn't, then carefully put brakecleen or lacquer thinner on it until you can pull it out and clean it properly. Don't drop it - any burr will make it useless.
The stuck plunger may be why you get no fuel flow when lifting the sensor plate. It doesn't follow the arm as you lift it because its stuck.
