Hi.
Just bought my 4th 240 a week ago from a distant family member. 1992 GL, 178,000 km and everything in order exept for heated seats. Only 2 little spots of rust, bla bla bla... sweet deal at 1300 cdn$.
One previous owner, (step brothers, step dad) a 72 year old that always had it well maintained. No nead for a second car so he sold it to me knowing i'd take good care of it.
He mentionned having problems with it on hot days but said no codes available as the problem was intermitent.
Well today was a hot here and as I was driving down the highway a high pitched buzz or beep came from somewhere near the right knee or a bit higher under the dash. The sound was about half to one full second long.
Would it be good to asume that this buzz comes from a relay trying to activate something? This model year is equiped with an auxiliairy electric fan for the radiator. It was stuck for not working for a while. I tested it and it works fine but whatever trigers it to start seems out of order.
Can someone please give me an idea of what to look for before hotter days realy set in?
Thanks.
