closing in on the rough idle problem-suspected bad AMM 700 1990

Check the 1 inch wide hose that runs between the Idle control and the intake pipe just before the Throttle body. If it is split or cracked you can get the symptoms you are describing. It's an out of site out of mind item it connects at the 6 O'clock position on the intake pipe.
