please help 700

hi i had an a.c. problem and the mechanic retrofitted it and put the new kind of refrigerent in the car, but before i took it too him i replaced the radiator switch on the top and tested to see if the fan worked and it did. Now i got a full charge of refrigerent and the aux. fan still wont go on and blow out the cold air what could be wrong. I also swapped between the radio relay i got about a month ago and the fan one and it still wouldnt turn on any help would be grateful i have a 91 740 with two round dials a recirc. button and a a.c./off button.
