If you search the archives, you will see that we had a discussion about htis a couple of months back.
I spoke with Groton and they told me that they have been selling the generic for Regina and hanven't had any complaints. But they also said that the people on this board know more than they do.
No definative Volvo source was found to confirm this, but there was enough circumstantial evidence to convince this Regina owner that:
Regina uses a "titania" sensor which reports readings by varying resistance. The vast majority of other cars, including the Bosch LH systems and that generic, use a "zirconia" sensor which reports by creating voltage. So it would seem that the generic can't be compatible.
Also, it seems that the titania sensor has two white wires and a red one instead of the tow white and a black used on the zirconia sensors.
I don't want to spend the big bucks either, but unless someone can find some specific information to convince me, that's what I'm going to have to do.
