It was a fun ride

'just brought my son's '66 122 to Salt Lake from San Diego - just under 800 miles. I asked advice from you guys about transporting it and you said to just drive it. I followed the advice (we have AAA, after all). There were no problems and we made no special preparation - just made sure all fluids were topped up, climbed in, drove it around San Diego for a few days and took off for home. We cruised easily at 65-75 mph. The engine sounded wonderful.

I had forgotten how enjoyable a 122 is on the road. My wife and I had a ball. We got a lot of interested looks, and a few guys wouldn't let us pass when they saw this marvelous old car going around them. It's living at our house until my son and his new wife live someplace they can have three vehicles. Right now I'm hoping..., but I shouldn't be that way about my son, should I.
