Thanks to the replys I received here a year ago, I purchased a 97, 960 with low milage. I am now up to 62,000 miles and wish to prepare for the changing of the timing belt. This of course brings up some questions. Some aftermarket belts are advertised with having longer life. Anyone agree or disagree with this? Also, should I be prepared and change out the idler pully and water pump while there? If so, stick with the OEM or a known high quality aftermarket pump and pully? Of course I am open to any suggestions of other maintenance to perform while doing this task. If anyone has info on good sources for parts, I would appreciate the sharing of such information. I have many sources for mercedes parts, and some of them do other makes as well. More than happy to share my list with anyone interested. Thanking you in advance, Roger
