my 240 was doing the same thing but you know what? i went to the junk yard to get an alternator 1 day so i seen a good fuel pump relay that was still in the car so i took it for a spare and when i got home i installed the relay on my car and it ran a LOT smoother once i changed the relay. your relay may be going bad. good luck
