Since your handle is "turbo gal", I assume you are working with a pre OBD-II car? (A 4 cylinder turbo before '96?) I think the 700/900 FAQs have instructions.

If it was a later OBD-II system it would turn itself off after a few "trips".

'96 965 with 16' wheels at 112K. Had '85 745 Turbo Diesel for 200K.
