Further to my screaming like a banshee car . . . 200

Many thanks to all who suggested that the culprit was the centre driveline support bearing. My mechanic agreed and asked that I pick up the bearing (and the rubber support) at the Volvo dealership. Volvo, however, claims there is no way of knowing whether it's the "big" bearing or the "small" bearing that I need until the car is disassembled. They say I should buy both and then return the one not used (or better yet have them do it) . . . Anybody know about this? The car is a 1988 244. Thanks again, Fred
