A buddy of mine who has a junkyard has exactly 2 240s. One is an 88 sedan I gave him after I was through using it for parts. I wish I'd kept the engine and transmission, but I didn't know for sure when I sold my last 245 that I'd buy another one.
Oh yeah, the other is an 87 245 with a 5 speed. The engine was shot when it came in: I need to get the transmission out and see if it's taken on any water where it's been sitting. I remember when he got the car over 3 years ago. It was complete, but by the time I bought my 87 245 at spring break the same year, the entire interior and front clip were gone. I did manage to scarf the dealer installed voltmeter and oil pressure gauge wiring (somebody else got the gauges but left the wiring and rubber feet), along with the rearview mirror and miscellaneous trim pieces and fasteners. Today I went out there to get the blue glass side mirrors off it, and climbed inside the wagon just to look around. Then I realized... There were too many seat belts in the back.
Yep, in all that time I never saw the pieces that someone else left behind when they got the 3rd seat. The bar under the floor and the latch are still there as well. I didn't have a wrench with me, so I'll pick them up on Monday. Having those should make it a little easier to get a seat, since many of them that pop up for sale are missing just those items.
One more thing I'd forgotten about it is that it still has a factory alarm in it. I hate alarms, so I never got it, but I'm thinking it should go in my brick parts box.
