Will cleaning the throttle body make a difference?? 700

was replacing the air mass meter neccessary....well the answer is did it help..if not then the answer is no....

as to cleanign the throttle body...certainly worth doing (I am AMAZED they didnt do it anyway - my indy does as a matter of course (even with no problems!)...depending on your engien but on my b230ft I can DIY that one in maybe 20 mins...took me a little while longer the first time feeling my way and 'un siezing' everything...

the faq is very straight forward on it..i would add to get a new gasket first...they are very cheap and likely you will not need it...but better to have it and find you dont need it that the other way around...

when were the plugs, leads, distributor cap & rotor arm last changed?..if its been a while i would do those as well...again not particularly expensive, easy to DIY (ok the dizzy cap & no 4 plug are a bit of an aquired art...but easy enough)...

check all your air hoses etc for leaks....

once you have done the above you have a good basis to START from...you have eliminated the OBVIOUS (and easy and farily cheap stuff...)

then its look at teh faq (fuel presure regulator might be a good thing to check...) you dont say if it stumbles....bogs down or misfires...

if it bogs down i would check the exhaust (&cat if you have one...?)..

my moto do the basic simple and cheapish stuff first (particualarly if its basic service stuff like plugs etc...) at least the parts arnt to bad and your not paying labour if you DIY it...

have you checked any codes on the car? (if it has this..not sure...)
