It's a classic. D-shaft center support bearing.

Worry about? Yeah, sorta. Don't let the problem persist for more than 18 years. My '86 did it for two years 'til I finally got sick of the embarrassing noise.

If all your 240s did this in the cold, then they were all hi-mileage cars with worn out center support bearings.
