compression to high? 700 1985

Hi all. I just tested the compression on my 744 N/A (324,827 kms). In my Haynes manual it says overall readings between 120-160psi are normal. I read: #1= 175 #2= 176 #3= 174 #4= 175. Are these too high? If so could it be carbon buildup? What is the best/safest way you guys clean out the carbon (w/o removing the head)? Thanx.
