I'm not sure the RWD forum is the best place to ask about this.
You could probably do as well going to the dealer's and looking at
a few, under the hood, under the car, etc and see if they look the same.
Frankly, from everything I have heard, there shouldn't be too much
integration other than things that are outsourced by both where
volume purchases might be beneficial to all concerned.
The guys on the FWD/AWD and Opinions forums could probably speak with
a LOT more authority.

BTW my only non-Volvo is a 92 Taurus and the only problems I have had
with it are probably just as common to Volvos.
