In-Line Magnetic Filters

Actually, those filters are just that: filters.
They have a "paper" filter element(the one I took apart had plastic "paper"), as well as the magnet and a bypass valve, in case the filter gets clogged.
After one cleared up a serious power steering problem for me, I always use 'em in P/S and auto trans lines.
They're available at most good parts stores.
