Not really familiar with the Volvo unit but I have removed a few dash pads. Almost always they are secured by nuts threaded on to studs in the pad. The esential tools for removal are a 9.6 volt Makita angle head drill, a flexible (through its entire length, available at Sears) extension in 1/4 inch and a variety of deep sockets.
