89 745 B234 no start

Hi guys I'm normally a 145 guy but I'm tryin to dignose a no start on a friend's 745. We have spark & fuel [don't know fuel press. yet, will put gauge on it tom.] It cranks fine. Checked the crank sensor & the wire is cracked- any way to check it for sure? Discon. the ets to enrich mixture-no change . Poured a little fuel in the maf & after sitting a few min. it started & died. Tim. belt is on & tight-changed not too long ago. Any ideas would be appreciated.
