Transmission shifting

I just got a 240 1992 Volvo 240 Wagon -- It is an automatic. The shifting of gears is alittle rough at times. The first shift at 20 mph...sometimes feels as if someone bumped into the back of the car. Then at 40 mph it shifts but seems to rev really high. Then at the next shift at 60 mph it is pretty smooth.

I had the transmission fliud checked and the mechanic said it looks good and does not appear to be burnt. Any suggestions....? Should I just take it to a valvoline place and have them flush the Transmission fluid?

Thanks - DAN

1992 240 Wagon - 164,000 miles.
