Spark plug help -

Congratulations, you are stepping out on a multi-year journey with a grand vehicle.

If you want to obtain Volvo publications, such as an Owner's Manual or a Wiring Diagram manual, call 1-800-25-VOLVO.

For shop manual, get the Bentley and the Haynes. Read both before any job, they have a different approach in some cases.

Just for grins, what was the price for the Volvo spark plugs? What brand and type are they? For years I bought Bosch W7RDP platinum from AutoZone at $1.99 each (less in the olden days). Then I looked in my owner's manual. low and behold, it said Bosch W7RDC. where C = copper.

How nice, the right plugs are only $0.99 each. However they are not pre-gapped to .028" so I have to regap them.

Be sure to torque correctly. I use a bending bar type wrench, and with that it is necessary to read while the plug is turning. I torque to 18 Nm with a dab of anti-sieze.

Get new ignition wires, too. Bougicord is the OEM for Volvo. Available aftermarket, check the advertisers here on the BBRD.

Good Luck,

Bob
