A/C Dying?

It might just be the drain hose dripping on the exhaust and creating steam. On my 90 740, it is located along the inboard side of the frame rail. Your's may have come loose, allowing the water to drip on the exhaust.

If it stinks really bad (kind of like burning rubber), you might want check out the brake caliper, but I'm doubting that's your problem.
