Code 144 is known to be frequently due to "Poor soldering on Fuel Injection System relay output (terminal) 87-1..., which can result in intermittant loss of power to Ignition Control Module Pin 9".

I think this type of relay problem is addressed in the 700/900 FAQ (see pull-down FEATURES menu above)
