If you do not find any bushing problems, it could be alignment. On sharp turns, if the toe-in/out is not correct, the tire can skip and what you hear as a clunk is actually the tire jumping. It isn't common but it does happen. This is most noticable when backing up (out of a parking space) with the wheels turned close to the stops.
However, you need to exhaust all bushing possibilities first since they are the most likely culprits.
