where is flame trap in/ near intake manifold? 700

1987 760 turbo w/intercooler

where is the flame trap/ flame arrestor located in my engine? i understand that if it is clogged that it will cause many problems with my engine and since i have many problems with my engine, maybe removing it and cleaning it (or throwing it completely away as my mechanic friend suggested) might help. I know it is under the intake manifold but that's all i know. does anyone have pictures of the location or can someone describe how to get to it and remove/replace it?
